So What Should Your Wedding Day Look Like?

Have you started your wedding planning and started feeling all of the feelings? Where do you start? What colors speak to you? Are you going to invite everyone you know, or just an intimate gathering? What kind of food? How formal are you going to go? How is everything going to come together in one cohesive and lovely day? Well, the short answer is that it does take a lot of work. Now what?

When I first sit down with my potential brides the first question I ask is, “How is everything goin? Tell me your high and low of planning.” And I genuinely want to hear how you are doing! That helps me know how I can better come alongside you to give you more peace and ease for your wedding day. The next question is, “How do you want to feel on your day? When you are in the dress, at the venue, see your groom, and you want to look back and feel what emotion?”

That is a big question to ask. Because now we have taken the pressure off of everything you have to do and now thinking on the really important thing, you marrying the love of your life. Now that we have that answer we can talk about the other stuff! What colors match your day? Pastels or deep colors? After that move to florals. Do you want them to be the main attraction or a beautiful addition in a dainty way?

Where does photography fall into this all? Your wedding photographer really is as big of a deal as we all make it out to be. Why though? Almost everyone has a phone with a camera, your aunt’s friend has a fancy camera she can use, and you don’t really see the point. Well, let me paint you a picture.

On your wedding day as your getting your hair and makeup ready with your girls, singing to the playlist of a lifetime, snacking, and having the best time together! Your photographer, hi it’s me hopefully, pops in to say hi and make sure you are feeling good. After I touch base I walk around the entire venue to see the lighting, shadows, the best place for portraits, where to do the first look, easy exits incase you need a break from everything, and start taking photos of your venue. Meanwhile you are still hanging with your girls and letting me take care of capturing your day.

The fun part about your wedding day? You get to decide how much time and how you take your wedding photos! Do posed pictures make your skin crawl? You want to live in the moment but know your grandma wants a traditional photo to show her friends? We get to talk about all of that while on our consult meeting. So, let’s get to chatting on how to make your wedding photo dreams come true!
